  • Many thanks to the good folk at Oxford University Press who have given permission for Transum to use the numberful picture for the extension activity (see below). There are many ways this picture can be used to stimulate a memory activity but it is up to you, the teacher, to devise a challenge suitable for your pupils. You may use it for a five minute viewing then ten questions about the picture when it is out of site or it could be the subject of a speed quiz with questions such as "Find the average of the three years you can see in the picture" or "How long after the record shop closes does the last showing of the film Crusher 2 begin?".
